Mindfulness for busy lives
Online course
Would you like to know more about mindfulness?…
Mindfulness is a word which is pretty much on everyone’s lips at the moment. However, the reality is few people actually know what mindfulness is and more importantly HOW to be mindful.
This 8 week online course is in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). This course is particularly geared towards those experiencing a degree of depression or anxiety but will benefit anyone that would like to find some space in their busy lives. The MBCT course is based on a very well researched format and is widely recognised and endorsed by organisations like the British Mindfulness Institute and the UK Mindfulness Network.
How is it delivered?
The course is delivered in a series of weekly video tutorials which you can watch from the comfort of your own home. You will also have access to further reading and home practice recommendations. You will get the most out of the course if you commit to watching the weekly class and following up with the home practice.
What is required?
An open mind and a willingness to engage in your own home practice on a daily basis.
Equipment
You can practice mindfulness anywhere but the best place is either sitting on a chair with a straight back or sitting on the floor supported by cushions. It is important to adopt an alert dignified posture for your practice. For some of the exercises you will be invited to lie down on the floor so often a yoga mat is useful.
